What kind of accommodation is The Slow Gaia?

The Slow Gaia offers agrotourism stays (Blue Cottage & Eleni's Cottage) peaceful, nature-rooted cottages in the village of Apsiou, Cyprus. Each has distinct character and comfort, perfect for slowing down and connecting with the land.

What accommodations do you offer?

We currently offer two distinct stays:

1. Blue Cottage: spacious cottage with two bedrooms, kitchen, living area, free Wi-Fi, and private parking. It features traditional charm with modern comforts, air-conditioning, and options for self-catering, plus access to nearby tavernas and walking areas. 

2. Eleni’s Cottage: a cozy studio cottage with air conditioning, kitchenette, private bathroom, free close by parking, and rustic village views. It’s ideal for couples or solo travelers wanting a simple, peaceful stay close to local tavernas and nature.

Is The Slow Gaia suitable for people looking to truly slow down?

Yes. Both cottages are designed for guests who want to unplug, rest, and connect with nature. Quiet village surroundings and the simplicity of countryside life make this ideal for slow living experiences.

What amenities do the cottages have?

Blue Cottage: Free Wi-Fi, private parking, air-conditioning, fully equipped kitchen, terrace, garden space, and access to outdoor activities like hiking and cycling in the surrounding landscape. 

 

Eleni’s Cottage: Air-conditioning, kitchenette, free parking, TV, and views of village greenery, all in a compact, comfortable studio.

Can I work remotely during my stay?

High-speed internet (Wi-Fi) is available at the cottages so that you can combine work with rest as needed, or check the occasional email.

What nearby activities can guests enjoy?

Both stays are set in Apsiou, a peaceful Cypriot village with lovely walking paths, scenic surroundings, tavernas, and easy access to hiking and cycling routes. It’s a great base for gentle outdoor exploration, village culture, and countryside quiet.

Alternatively, you can explore the island, go on wine tasting tours, or visit cultural heritage sites. It is recommended to rent a car for easier access.

Is there parking on-site?

Blue Cottage: The cottage has one private parking spot and alternative locations by the street.

 

Eleni’s Cottage: The studio is situated on a cobblestone pathway so there is no direct parking place but guests are welcome to use the free municipal parking by the church (one minute walk).

What is sleep travel?

Sleep travel is a way of traveling where rest is the main focus. Instead of busy schedules and sightseeing, it’s about staying somewhere quiet and comfortable, slowing down, and allowing your body to reset. At our cottages, sleep travel means peaceful surroundings, simple living, and the freedom to rest without pressure.

Do I need to bring my own linen?

The house comes with all basic amenities which includes linen, blankets, bath towels, toiletries, and kitchen utensils
